The Boys of Summer

This month the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog is getting inspiration from the Paper Person "New Episode" kit.  Here is a picture of the kit.

The kit uses a few papers from the "Buenos Dias" collection by Obed Marshall.  I knew I had purchased a few papers from that collection so I decided to start there.  I had five papers and since I like keeping collections together I decided to use them all in my kit.  I love the orange, yellow, blue, aqua combo and thought it would be a good start for a boy kit.  Here are all the papers I pulled.

Next I added some embellishments.

Here are the things I counterfeited for my kit.  The first confetti paper I made (on the right) I didn't like.   So, I tried again and came up with the one on the left.  I stamped some labels.  And I loved Master Forger Kate's take on the circle project life card so I made some circles too.

Peanut Butter - Chocolate No Bake Cookies

For Challenge #1 on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog we needed to create a layout using an old family recipe.  I decided to also scraplift a layout that used the original Eat Play Love collection.  Here is my layout.

And here is the layout I scraplifted by Dot's Scrapbooking.

Forgeries on the 4th.

I've always loved checking out the forgeries everyone comes up with for their kits on the .Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.  This month to add to my counterfeit kit I created some forgeries of my own.  Looking at the 12 x 12 sticker sheet from the original Eat Play Love collection I was drawn to the mixing bowls, Family title and the circle stickers.

To forge the circle stickers I started by punching out several circles and scalloped circles.

I adhered them togetether and then on some I doodled, stamped or added a tiny heart.

Next I wanted to forge the mixing bowls.  To do this I punched out three circles in varying sizes.

I cut them in half-ish and doodled on a trim.

Then I simply stacked them at angles.

Finally, I wanted to forge the Family title.  I got out my Sizzix dies and cut out the word family.

Then I simply doodled a little design on each letter.

May Counterfeit Kit

I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.  This month we are counterfeiting the "Eat Play Love" collection from Close To My Heart.

It has a kitcheny feel.  And I love the red, blue, yellow color combo with pops of green and kraft.  I tried to stick with a similar feel and colors for my kit.  I'm calling my kit Mamma's Kitchen.  First I pulled some 12 x 12 sticker sheets.  And then patterned papers to match.

Then I pulled some solid paper, project life cards and a few embellishments.

Some stamps and a stencil.

And finally some die cuts.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

I played along with day 1 of 30 Days of Sketches on 30 Days Of Sketches With Christy's Beautiful Life.  I really struggled with this one.  I couldn't figure out where to put my circles and what circles to use.  I wanted to use the leprechauns but then wasn't  happy with them.  I tried green circles in different sizes.  Bubbly looking circles.  I just couldn't get it to look just right.  In the end this is what I went with.  It's not the best, but oh well.

Sledding

It is so hard to find winter papers with orange.  I had to dig into my Halloween stash to find some orange papers.  But, I paired them with a black winter paper and I think it works.  Here is my layout.

Calm and Collected

I decided to play along this month with the Mini Kit Monday Challenge Group over on Facebook.  This month's inspiration is a mood board/color combo that is absolutely gorgeous!

As I was gathering papers from my stash I came across a chipboard set that had some of the colors.  It has the navy, dark purple and aqua.  But, instead of the gray it has pink and green.

I throwed it into my pile for my stash kit and kept going through papers to build my kit.  I started adding papers that had the pink and green in addition to the original colors.  I wanted my kit to just be the original colors, but I also wanted to be able to use all the chipboard pieces.  So, I ended up making two not so mini kits that will share the chipboard set.....or one mega kit.

Here is the first kit with the original colors.

The second kit with pink and green instead of gray.

And then some additional die cuts for my kits.

Winter Flurries

This month on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog they are counterfeiting the December Flurries kit from Not Just For Boys Kit Club.  I absolutely love NJFB!  I didn't purchase the entire Flurries kit but I did purchase some of the ala cart items for that kit.  I purchased the paper, alpha and sequins for the kit.  Originally I was just going to use what I had purchased and then counterfeit the embellishments, but that felt like cheating.  So, I decided to go ahead and pull papers too.

Here is the Flurries kit from NJFB.

Here is what I had purchased.

Here are my counterfeit papers.

Some stickers and rub ons.

Some embellishments.

And some stamps, stencils and mixed media.
