Little Cave Man

This post is WAY overdue!  It is from Halloween last year...and seeing as how Halloween is only 5 months away....very overdue.  But, I just wanted to share the costume I bought/made for my son.

The dinosaur was purchased.  When I saw it I thought it was adorable.  The child's feet go inside the dino's back feet so the dino actually moves.  However, when I got to thinking about it...that left the "dino rider" without feet.  So, I thought..what would be cuter than a caveman riding the dino?  I'm not a sewer...so I upcycled.  I bought a pair of leggings and dyed them tan and stuffed them for legs.  I did sew some felt feet and glued on the toenails.  I wanted the feet to be kinda oversized for a more comical look.  I bought a long sleeved cheetah print dress, cut a zigzag on the bottom and cut the arms off.  I also cut some wrist and ankle wraps from the sleeves.  Then I made a necklace and added bones to the wrist wraps.  I love how it turned out!

Here are a few more pics.

WOYWW

It's been a while since I joined in with the WOYWW over at Stamping Ground.  A lot of times I either don't have anything new on my desk or I forget.  So, I made sure to run in and take a picture for this week.  Here is my desk:

In the back is my paper drawers, then a box of newer papers that I haven't gotten put away yet is on the left hand side.  Next is some papers and pictures for the next layout I'm gonna work on.  To the right of that...and also on the bottom left side is some stuff that I haven't gotten put away yet from my last layout.  And then at the bottom is my son's hands playing with his little pirate men.  I tried to sneak into my scrapbook room real quick to get the picture, but he followed me in.  :)

Sunburst Spinner Card

I've been seeing so many sunburst cards lately and I wanted to try to make one.  So, when one of the facebook groups I'm in asked for cards for a little girl in the hospital, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try it out.

Here is my first ever sunburst card.

I made it a spinner card too.  Below is a couple pictures showing the unicorn spin.

My local scrapbook store was collecting cards for Operation Write Home.  Here are the cards I made to donate.

WOYWW and Scraplift THIS! all in one

I haven't done the WOYWW over at Stamping Ground for a while.  I don't get a lot of "me time" with a two year old, so there usually isn't anything exciting on my desk on Wednesdays.  But, I have been trying to make a point to get more scrapbooking done this year...even if that means staying up after my night-owl little guy falls to sleep.  One of the facebook groups I'm in Still Scrapping Around the Clock has a Scraplift THIS! challenge going on right now.  So, last night I stayed up til 3:30 am to make a layout for it.  I usually like to clean up my desk once I get a project done, but with it being so late I just decided to leave it til later.  So, this is how my messy desk looks today after a night of scrapping.

And here is a better look at my layout.
