Avery's First Year Mini Album

I wanted to make a first year mini album to showcase each month of my sons first year and then display it at his first birthday party for friends and family to see.  Unfortunately (or fortunately..considering there were some pretty rowdy kids there and it probably would have gotten ruined had I had it out on display) I didn't get it finished in time.  Anyway, I finally got it finished...and am planning to make copies of it for a few family members. But here it is.

I fuzzed out the information on the first page for safety purposes. In this day and age you cant be too careful about what you put on the world wide web. Here is the page for his birth.

I had enough room to do a page for each month, holidays and a few random pages.  This is a random page.  It is of my son at a few weeks old.  Doesn't he look so cute in his little frog hat?

Here is Avery at one month.  He's holding up his finger saying "Buckeyes are #1"

Two months old.

Three months old.

Avery's first 4th of July.

Four months.  Doesn't he look so sweet?

The banner the bee is holding originally said something like "busy as a bee"  but that didn't work for my page.  So, I paper pieced a new banner over top of it.

Five months.

Six months.

Avery's first Halloween.

He makes such an adorable dragon!

I just love this picture!!

Ten months.

Another random.  Old time/western photos we had done on vacation.

Eleven months.  You can see this page in progress on a previous woyww post.

Avery's first Easter.

And his first birthday party.

Close up of his cake face.  Does anyone else believe it's bad luck to cut hair before a first birthday?  I think we got his hair cut the very next day.

Well, I hope you enjoyed taking a look through my sons first year mini album.

Cutest Gnome

I love the fantasy realm.  And so when I found out about FaerieCon a few years ago I just HAD to go.  And I have been back every year since.  Last year was my sons first year....well second if you count the year we went while he was in my belly.  A lot of the people who go to FaerieCon dress up and so I decided to dress my son up as a gnome.

Here is a quick 8x8 page I made
And here is a close up of the big gnome and the beginning of the text
and the picture and the middle of the text
and finally the baby gnome and the rest of the text

WOYWW

Here is a pic of my work space for the WOYWW over at Stamping Ground.  I was able to finish the page I was working on last week.  I have one more page to go until my sons first year mini album is complete.  And then I will start posting pics of the pages in it.  But, in the meantime, I needed to get working on my cards for the card swap at Red Letter Journal.

The theme for this month is Birthday cards.  I am using an adorable cupcake mouse image from Sliekje Digi Stamps.  I just love her images.  They are so cute!  I will be posting the finished cards once I get them done.....sometime between now and the swap on Sunday.

WOYWW

This is my first time joining in on the  "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday" over at Stamping Ground.  I've come across posts for it several times while blog hopping and it always looks like fun.  I love seeing other peoples creative spaces, so this week I decided to share mine too.
My table is a mess right now.  I'm trying to re-organize my scrap room and in the process my table has become a collect all.  I'm working on a first year album of my son.  He fell asleep early last night and so I started on this page.  I got everything punched, cut, edged and stamped and I had just gotten the "11 months" stuck down and he woke up so I didn't get too far on it.  I only have this and one more page---his birthday party page to finish and then the album will be complete.  I will post pictures of it once I get it all finished.  Anyway...thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed your peek into my world.

Yard Sale Card

I went to an amazing scrapbook yard sale last month and got quite a few new supplies/tools to add to my scrapbook stash.  The theme for the card swap at Red Letter Journal this month was animals.  I had purchased a cute stamp set at the yard sale that I decided to use.  While making my cards I also decided to use several other yard sale purchases.  Here is my card
The stamps, circle punch, embossing folder and buttons were all from Shirley's yard sale. The flower punch, embossing powders, and paper were all from other yard sales. Here is a close up of the peacock
Here is the coordinating 6x6 I made. This is my daughter in her homecoming dress from her Sophmore year.
I am entering this into the following challenges:

Carrie Sassy

Good news!  When I was sitting in Meijer realizing that the wi-fi was not going to let me get my picture uploaded to my blog in time, I decided to at least try to send an email with a picture of my Miranda Sassy card.  Hoping that they would accept that as my entry so I could continue with the challenge.  Well, I got an email yesterday with the final image for the Sassy Studio Designs progressive relay.  The theme for this round is New York or Paris.  Here is my card
I got the background image from Free Vintage Digital Stamps Blog
