Christmas Card
Here is a CAS Christmas card I made for this months card swap.
If the gem on the big snowflake looks familiar...it is. I had some left over from last months card swap. I used a retired Stampin' Up set called "Snowflakes". And a Close to My Heart stamp from the set "Holiday Commentary". I know...shame on me for mixing companies.
Here is a close up...trying to show the iridescenty embossing powder.....but I just couldnt seem to get a good pic of it.

WOYWW
Wow, it's hard to believe it's been a week already! Not a whole lot has changed since my last weeks WOYWW post for Stamping Ground. I've gotten my digi image from Simply Betty Stamps resized to the size I want and printed onto cardstock. I got those cut out and have started to color them. I still need to color her stockings and a few of the pumpkins. And then figure out the rest of the card.
I always like to have a scratch piece of paper to work over to protect my table. It's also great for testing colors, drawing layout sketches and keeping track of measurements on.

WOYWW
Wow! It's been almost two months since I got the chance to join in on the WOYWW over at Stamping Ground. I just haven't had much crafting time lately. Thank goodness for the card swap group over at Red Letter....I have to set aside a little crafting time each month for it. Tonight I went through my stash as well as went to the store to purchase a few items for my cards for next month. I haven't started them yet.....but here are the supplies I plan on using or am still debating over.
The theme for next month is to use five elements that you might have left over from another project. Since we have to make six cards for the swap they don't have to be actually left over, just elements that could potentially be left over. I chose to use paper, ribbon, stamped image, flowers and gems/brads. I'll post the finished cards after the swap group meets (October 7th).

Baby Crab Cakes
A friend of mine is having a baby shower. This is her third little one. She already has a little boy and a little girl. And she decided to be surprised with this ones gender. I love shopping for babies....but it was kinda hard this time. She said she still had plenty of clothes from her other two children. And trying to find gender neutral items is hard....especially if you don't want to go with the (much needed...but boring) diapers, shampoos, lotions, etc kind of gift. So, as I walked around the tiny baby section for the third time at a local store....I finally stumbled across this cute little crab mirror. I was debating if it was gender neutral or not and then I saw the crab clacker toy. I just love when everything matches...so I decided that was what I was buying.
Next, I strolled over to the card isle. Did I really think I'd find one with a crab? Well, not really...but it's still fun to look at the over priced, mass produced, no personality cards on the shelf. Not a one with a crab. But, no worries...now I have an excuse to have a little "me time" in my craft room while I make a card.....cause the card has to match.
The image is a freebie over at Dulemba's Blog. And of course I need a matching gift bag too. I actually did find a gift bag that had a cute crab on it...but it was just a little too small for the mirror to fit into. Luckily, my pack rat, hate to throw anything away self had saved all the gift bags from my baby shower. And there happened to be one in there that worked perfectly. All, I had to do was.....make it match.
I used the same crab image as the one I used for the card....so my card and bag match perfectly.
And, put it all together and what do I have? Gift, card and bag all in a cute "little crab cake" theme.
