This is my card for round three of the progressive relay over at Sassy Studio Designs Our electricity went out due to storms so I had to do half of it by flashlight. And then drive to the local Meijer to upload it. Thank God for free wi-fi.
Well, I guess it just wasn't meant for me to make it to round four of the relay. I tried for over half an hour to get my card uploaded last night before the deadline. But the free wi-fi just didn't want to let me. So, I wasn't able to submit my card in time to make it to the next round. But, I still wanted to share it. The theme for this round was "clean and simple".

Samantha Sassy
Ever have one of those days where your card just doesn't want to do what you want it to do? That was my day today. I got the image for the second round in the Sassy Studio Designs progressive relay. I had an idea in my head. But, no matter what I tried it just didn't want to play out. So, in the end, here is what I came up with.
For this round of the challenge we had to include bling. Her dress is glittery and there are a few rhinestones. Hopefully you can see it at this angle.
Originally, I was going to put card symbols (heart, diamonds, spades, clubs) down the right hand side and do kind of a Vegas type feel. Hynce my sentiment.
But, no matter what I tried nothing looked right. I tried stamping and adding glitter.....looked cheesy. I tried just stamping....didn't turn out right. Cutting out the symbols...nope. Stickers....the shades of red didn't match up. Plastic card symbol embellishments....didn't work. Card symbols in the center of flowers.....too busy looking. In the end I nixed the idea and left it as is. Don't get me wrong...I like how it turned out. But, sometimes when you have an idea in your head, it takes all day to realize it just wont work.
Here is a close up of my Samantha image.

Charlotte Sassy
They are having a "Sassy in the City Progressive Relay" at Sassy Studio Designs They gave use this sensationally sassy image "Charlotte" to get started. Here is the card I came up with using the image.
I decided to bling it up a little. It's hard to see in the pic, but her lips, shoes, center of the flowers, flourish and the sentiment are all sparkly.
The sentiment I used was a freebie from Papers and Prints

Following a sketch
The theme for this months card swap at Red Letter Journals was to follow a card sketch. We all had to use the same sketch. I think it'll be so much fun seeing everyones variations of the sketch. Here is the card I came up with.
The stamps I used were from the set "mimi in paris" from Penny Black
Here is the sketch we had to use for inspiration.
And here is a coordinating 6x6 page I made. The theme for my daughters prom this year was "Paris" so I used her and her boyfriends prom picture.
